2-5-10 Warranty Review Reports
Under the Homeowner Protection Act and its regulations, new homes constructed in British Columbia by licensed residential builders are required to have third-party home warranty insurance. This mandatory coverage is among the most robust protections against construction defects available in Canada. These warranties are usually separted into:
15 - Month - Defects in materials and labor associated with the common property of strata corporations
2 - Year - Defect in materials and labor or delivery and distribution systems (electrical, plumbing, heating ventilation, air conditioning etc.)
5 - Year - Building envelope and water ingress
10 -Year - Structural defects
A complete warranty review submitted before the expiration of the warranty coverage can reduce future maintenance, repair and replacement expenditures.
Imperial Engineering Inc. has the expertise to ensure that not only obvious visual surface defects are captured, but any indicators of major underlying problems are properly documented.
